Technical Support Engineer.
Join Tyrell’s technical team as an engineer who thrives under pressure — taking ownership of complex problems across broadcast and post-production environments in Ireland and the UK.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with a solid grounding in media technology — someone who can walk into any room, take ownership of a problem, and work through it calmly and methodically under pressure. You’ll be the person clients rely on when things go wrong, so confidence, technical instinct, and a cool head are just as important as your qualifications. You will work as part of a team of experienced engineers, collaborating to support the biggest media brands in Ireland and the UK.
RESPONSIBILITIES
→ Phone, remote and on-site technical support and troubleshooting
→ Configuration and installation of new systems and upgrades
→ Logging and managing technical support cases on the CRM system and internal knowledge base
→ Organising repairs, replacements and returns of faulty equipment
→ Demonstrating Tyrell’s product portfolio to customers and prospects
→ Contributing to marketing and social media activity
→ Ongoing research into products, workflows and technologies
→ Technical support and input for tender submissions
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
— Minimum 2 years’ Broadcast or Post Production experience
— Excellent time management and relationship management skills
— Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
— Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
— Experience with archive and nearline storage systems
— Experience with production or asset management systems
— Solid understanding of high-performance computing and graphics processing
— Theatre and/or live sound experience is a bonus
Additional Information
Work Model:
Hybrid — must be Dublin based
Travel:
Customer site visits across Ireland & the UK
On-Call:
1 in 5 weeks Rota (allowance paid)
Salary:
Based on experience
Hours:
Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm; evenings & weekends when required (pre-planned)
Requirements:
Full driver’s license & own vehicle essential
