My Father’s Dragon

Tyrell is proud to be sponsoring the upcoming My Father’s Dragon: The Exhibition taking place at the Butler Gallery, Kilkenny from November 19^th to January 29^th. In partnership with Academy award nominated Cartoon Saloon this immersive, sensory, and child-centred exhibition is based on the highly anticipated animated film, My Father’s Dragon.

Commissioned by Netflix, My Father’s Dragon is an adventure story about Elmer Elevator, a boy who is struggling to cope after moving to the city. He runs away from home in search of the Wild Island and to rescue Boris, a captive baby dragon trapped on a wild island. Elmer’s adventures introduce him to ferocious beasts, a mysterious island and the friendship of a lifetime.

Having worked closely with Tyrell over the last six years, leading Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon turned to Tyrell as their technology partner to supply the end-to-end solution for My Father’s Dragon. This included Dell workstations, Wacom tablets, as well as Pixit and Avid NEXIS storage. Tyrell’s expertise and experienced team enabled Cartoon Saloon’s animators and editors to continue working at the height of the pandemic when remote production workflows needed to be implemented to ensure production continuity.
